JonesOffspring: The Return of Odysseyfluxx

Freeport, N.Y. – Kings and Queens Radio’s own DJ_Jhayla_Experience sits down with Odysseyfluxx as he talks about his return to music, his EP in progress and his clothing line JonesOffspring.

  1. Thank you for your time, when did you start your musical/artistic Journey?

Music evolved from my experience with seeing tag art and trying to duplicate what I saw when I was six, each letter had its own expression. So naturally music incorporated itself growing up in the boroughs of New York City.

2. Who was the first to support your natural talents?

It was my mother first, who would notice my drawings and boast about them. Before I knew what a fan was, I was born with the ultimate cheerleader, Veronica Jones. May she rest in peace, as I continue to create music she has never heard, I work hard everyday to make her proud.

3. What is JonesOffspring?

Jonesoffspring is an urban clothing line that is for the original Black Kings and Queens of the world. I wanted to leave my sons Devin and Donnie a legacy, and part ownership in a company that they are not answering to or being devalued by the “White man”. I incorporate my drawings into customized hats, T-shirts, boots, sweatsuits, jackets, etc…

4. If you don’t mind me asking, how old are you?

I just turned 44 this past July. Yeah I know I look young.

5. Are you working on anything right now?

I just finished my music video for my single Cooking Up – Feat. Qmorrocco. I have an one-minute teaser circulating on Youtube. My EP Dreaming With My Eyes Open is complete and will be dropping early spring of 2021. I am working on other projects, I just can’t say too much about them right now.

6. Have you had any past success in the industry?

Yes, I was signed in 1992 as a duo rapping group called Young Tunz, I had an opportunity to go on tour in Arizona when I was 17 years-old. Life’s ups and downs happened, and my sons came along and I didn’t want to be the dad on the road missing out on being there for my sons.

7. What do you consider to be your genre of rap?

It’s definitely not mumble rap… I consider my music to be conscious rap, cursing is minimal.

8. How do you feel about returning to music after almost after a decade of being m.i.a.?

I feel like my time is now considering the music that’s out right now. My craft is stronger than ever and I have a strong management team, and my sons are old enough to appreciate what I do.

9. Do you have any life Quotes?

My mother always told me to be the best at whatever I was going to be. “If you want to be a basketball player be the best basketball player in the world, if you want to be a garbage man, be the best garbage man in the world.”

10. Do you have anything to say to aspiring artists, and where can the fans find you?

Never give up on your dreams, there your dreams for a reason. I can be reached on Facebook @DumaineJones, and @OS1560 and @DumaineJones on Instagram. You can listen to my music @The_Jhayla_Experience on Youtube. I'm also on Kings and Queens Radio Podcast which can be found on Spotify and Apple. My past and present music is now playing on Zeno.fm/kings-and-queens-radio.
